Of course, most people who are thinking about getting their EU visa will not need to book a hotel on a dummy booking site. But, if you have limited funds and you know that you are going to need to book a hotel for your Schengen visa, you might not have the luxury of going back to the hotel and spending some time with the receptionist and hotel staff to apply for your visa and have the documents translated. In this situation, it is an advantage to be able to book a room without speaking to anyone in the hotel.
For most visa applications, the purpose of the hotel booking is to provide the reservation service to your embassy or consulate to prove that you are actually going to stay in the hotel. Check proof of accommodation.
Purchasing a fake hotel reservation does not prove that you are actually staying in the hotel. The only thing you would know is that you made a hotel booking for visa without speaking to anyone in the hotel. You would not be able to book the hotel, show your passport, or talk to any of the hotel employees or staff about your visa. Therefore, it is not wise to make a fake hotel reservation, because you might actually have to stay at the hotel. However, what is a fake hotel reservation?
The question I ask is what is a real Schengen visa?
Most people think that the Schengen visa is a single and short visa that allows you to travel to any Schengen country. However, there are actually two separate visas, namely the Schengen visas and the European Economic Area visas. Each of these visas gives you different rights, responsibilities, and legal conditions.
For example, while a Schengen visa will allow you to travel to any of the 28 EU states, it will not allow you to travel to other Schengen countries, including Ireland, Iceland, Norway, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, or Turkey.
Similarly, the EEA visa will not give you permission to travel to any of the EU states. However, it will allow you to travel to many other countries within the EEA, including: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
The question is: how do you prove that you will be staying at a certain hotel or accommodation in your visa application? There are two options available:
You can provide a piece of paper that states that you booked a room or accommodation at a certain hotel or accommodation.
You can provide a reservation confirmation.
For the purpose of this article, I will be using the first option, the booking confirmation.
What to do for a fake hotel reservation?
Since the hotel booking confirmation is what’s used by your embassy and consulate to make a visa application, what do you do if you do not really want to book a hotel room?
The easiest and cheapest option is to use a booking confirmation for a hotel room. You can find out the cost of the hotel room in the local currency and the date of your stay from the booking confirmation.
It would make sense to do this for hotels that are near to your residence. If you are going to make a fake hotel reservation for a hotel room that is far away, then this option would not be ideal.
What are the advantages of using a fake hotel booking confirmation?
- You will not have to pay the full hotel room cost in the currency you do not have.
- You can check the dates of your stay without speaking to anyone.
- You will not need to book a hotel room on a dummy booking site.
- You will not need to ask the hotel staff about your visa, because the fake hotel booking confirmation will prove that you are actually going to stay at the hotel.
- You will not need to leave your luggage at the reception in order to book a fake hotel booking.
- You will not need to wait for an employee or employee to talk to you in order to book a fake hotel booking.
The following simple steps will guide you through the process of using a fake hotel.
